"No Go" Zones

SWMJCC “NO-GO” ZONES (BEHIND BATTING AND BOWLING ENDS)

1. GROUND SET UP

a) No-Go” zones (zone) must be implemented for all competitions within the SWMJCC, whether an independent Umpire is in attendance or not.

b) Bowling and Batting ends are active simultaneously for both team’s innings.

c) The Zone is 45 Degrees (i.e. approx. 35 steps on a 45 m boundary) from Batting and Bowling ends. Please refer to diagram below.

d) The Zone is to be marked with distinctive cones i.e. a different colour.

2. SPECTATORS AND BYE-STANDERS

a) No-one associated with the game should set up, stand, film, or spectate from within or beyond the extent of the boundary of this Zone.

3. FIELDERS

a) Fielders may not stand within the Zone behind the batter when the ball is bowled. For clarity, no “back-stop” fields are permitted, fine-leg and third-man fielders must take a starting position beyond the Zone.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES

a) It is the Coaches and Managers from both team’s responsibilities to assist in keeping people away from this ‘marked area’.

b) Umpires will ask people to move away from the Zone, please respect this request.
